I finally made the switch

Not the switch from blogger to wordpress, but the switch from .blogspot to .com and I must say, I love it!  I'm so excited to finally have my very own AHousewifeManifesto.com that I'm doing a happy dance as I type this, you can't see it, but I'm doing it.  Isn't it just so much cuter now that it's housed on it's very own matching domain name?  I think so.

I've updated the link to my button, so if you want to be a dear and switch them out that would be just lovely of you!  I've also got new email addresses, so I'll be updating all that info here in a bit.

Oh my Blog, how I have been neglecting you!

I haven't posted in a while, so I figured I should at least post something tonight.  I've been really busy doing designs and all that for other blogs to post on my own.  So far I only have one completed, my girl Ange over at Names Will Not Be Changed to Protect the Innocent, and I have 3 others that are half way done and two that are about a quarter of the way done.  I decided to start a blog design business and have been doing some free designs to complete my portfolio, and have some that I'm doing at a discounted rate.  So I'm probably going to be busy for a little while still yet.

I'm going to be announcing the winner of my Charlies Soap giveaway tomorrow, and putting up a giveaway for a pimp ass curling iron I just got in.  Seriously, it's the best styling tool I've ever used, and I love it.  I love it so much I'm thinking of giving her a name.  I've contemplated naming her Thelma and then naming my flat iron I got a while back Louise.  Justin, of course, thinks I'm insane.

I would do all the giveaway stuff tonight, but I'm about to pass out.  My baby started preschool on Tuesday, and the routine and the crying I've been doing have taken a lot out of me.

Baby Rock Apparel Review and Giveaway

So most of you know how I feel about buying clothes for my two boys.  It's hard to find cool or unique things that I like for them for decent prices.  I was really excited to have heard about Baby Rock Apparel because they do have really cool baby clothes and they sell them for really good prices!  I had a really hard time picking out something to review, because it was all just so cute.  I think I had around 20 things picked out and had to get my husband to narrow the list down for me.  When looking for my review item from them I had the opposite problem from other times I've been shopping for my boys, because this time there was too much to choose from.  I was left sitting at the computer thinking to myself and wondering if I should get a cute pair of black pants for the baby, an awesome hat for Aiden, a Sorry Girls I Only Date Models shirt for either of the boys.  The list went on and on!

I finally made my choice.  Well I should say choices, because I sent them 2 options to send me.  One for Aiden and one for Jagger.  I picked out the Big Bro "Honor & Defend shirt for my big boy and the Lil Bro "Search & Destroy" one-piece for my little guy.  I had no clue which one I would get, so it was exciting for me to open the package and not know what I was getting.  I ended up with the Lil Bro "Search & Destroy" one-piece for my baby Jagger.  He looked adorable in it, and the quality of the material was a very nice surprise.  It was a nice material and very soft, which is a plus because of Jagger's sensitive skin and the fact that he spends a large chunk of his time crawling around in the floor.  Crawling means that we can't handle any thin fabric, because we have very thick carpet and I don't want the fabric to get worn by all his crawling, rolling and scooting around on that thick carpet.  You know what else I love about Baby Rock Apparel?  I absolutely love that they give a portion of their profits to The Pediatric Cancer Foundation!  I love to shop at companies that give back or give to good causes, especially anything having to do with cancer, because that's what my Mommy and my Nephew passed away from, and anything having to do with children, because it breaks my heart that such horrible things happen to such sweet, innocent little people.  So keep a look out down below for the coupon code if you like to buy from companies with a heart too!

Misikko Flat Iron Review and Giveaway

Hello, my name is Ashlee...and I am a flat iron-aholic!  Now that you know my nasty little secret I'll tell you something you didn't know about my husband, Justin -- he is a flat iron junkie as well.  I have wavy hair, and it's not those sexy beachy waves either.  So needless to say I am eternally grateful to the good people at Misikko who sent me the Corioliss Classic Pro Flat Iron 1" to try out.  I was so excited about getting my very first professional flat iron that there aren't even words to describe my level of excitement!  As soon as I opened the sleek shiny black box I saw a draw string bag filled with scented faux roses!  I removed my much anticipated flat iron and immediately tried it on my own hair then handed it over for my husbands use.  When our hair turned out straighter than ever and feeling silkier than when we began I knew it was love.   

I must say that I am impressed with how it leaves my hair looking beautiful and Cher straight as well as how it leaves my hair feeling so smooth and silky.
I've made a list of the things that I love about my new favorite styling tool that I've ever owned!

1. I love that my Corioliss Flat Iron is energy efficient at 35 watts!  It heats up to 410 degrees Fahrenheit too.
2. It only takes around 10 seconds or so for this flat iron to be hot and ready to use. So even the most impatient of people won't have to wait!
3. The ceramic plates, the negative ions and far infrared technology is why the results of using this flat iron are shiny, smooth frizz free hair!
4. You can straighten, curl or flip you ends up or under with this flat iron because of the shape of it, it has curved edges which allows you to style your hair many different ways!
5. It comes with a heat proof mat to sit your flat iron on while styling and a heat proof pouch to store it in after you're done, which is a plus if you have kids because they won't get burnt if they try to grab it after you're done.
6. The on/off switch and the temperature controls were in what I considered an awkward place at first before I got used to them.  They aren't on the top and visible when you sat it down, but were inside down below the ceramic plates.  This gives it a chic and sleek look!  It also makes it harder for the kids to turn on should they get it out and plug it in without their Mom having knowledge of it, so that's another plus for a Mommy, because we always worry about things like that!

I've heard  a couple of the stylists I know talk about "paying for a name" and that just means that they pay professional prices for these tools and they work like a $25.99 drug store bought styling tool.  That is not the case with this professional flat iron, you are paying for a quality product that works like a dream and your hair will feel as beautiful as it looks!  I've recommended this flat iron to all of my friends.  I've got my eye on the Croc Hair Dryer- Designer Red because I've heard that Misikko sells the best hair dryers.  I've also been wanting to try the FHI Heat Hot Sauce and the HANA Styling Iron Cleaner, I'll let you all know how I like them when I get them in and try them out!

I decided to flat iron my baby sister Ali's hair to show you all how well it works.  Her hair is curly, very thick, she has a lot of hair and it gets tangled easily.  She also has issues with it getting frizzy. Juice Beauty SPF Mineral Moisturizer Review and Giveaway!

I think by now most of you already know this, but for those of you who may be new I'll say it again.  I love organic beauty products and organic skin care products!  I was so excited to try Juice Beauty products, because even though I do already use organic skin care products it's safe to say that I have never used anything quite like this before.  Unless you are already a Juice Beauty product owner, it's probably safe to say that you haven't used anything like this before either.

You're probably wondering what is so unique or different about the Juice Beauty brand.  It's actually pretty obvious when you think about it, but I really didn't make the connection until I read the ingredient list.  It is made with a juice base!  That's right, you did read that correctly, I said it's made with juice.  Maybe you have heard of that before, but I know that I have not.

I was given the SPF 30 Mineral Light Moisturizer to try.  It comes in three shades.  I, of course, had to get the light because of my extremely light skin tone.  I don't like tinted moisturizers, I don't use them honestly.  So I did not use this product as a tinted moisturizer, but it could most definitely be used as such if you're comfortable doing so.  I use it either as a moisturizer or after my regular moisturizer for the added SPF benefit.  I love the way it smells and the way it makes my skin feel.  SPF is always a good thing to use anyway, and if it comes in the form of a really awesome moisturizer that will also help to even out your skin tone before you use foundation then that's great!  If you can also use it as a tinted moisturizer then that's great as well.  Everyone loves a triple threat, right?
The SPF Mineral Moisturizer is made with an organic juice solution of apple, white grape and pomegranate juices and also contains other organic plant oil extracts as well as vitamins.  It truly is good for your skin.  When you're using a Juice Beauty product you can be sure that you're only using the best organic ingredients on your skin, and since your skin absorbs up to 64% of what you place on it that is a good thing for sure!

My Lip Stuff Review and Giveaway

I've honestly never seen such a selection of lip balms in my entire life.  They have over 400 flavors!  I was so excited to try the ones that Brea picked out for me.  So when the little package arrived here at the house, I quickly opened it, read the labels and applied the Rainbow Sherbet flavored lip balm to my lips, after smelling it of course.  I was pleasantly surprised that it did in fact smell exactly like Rainbow Sherbet!  I quickly found out that it tasted amazing as well.  I was really intrigued when I found out that Jennifer Garner uses it!  My Lip Stuff has been featured in several different magazines, and is a friend of PETA business. 

I was afraid that the lip balm was going to be that sticky, gross, thick gloss that feels weird and annoys me to no end.  It's not like that at all though.  It's buttery, goes on smooth and makes my lips feel so soft!  I'm a lip balm junkie, and I use it at least six times a day, that's the low end of average for me.  The sticky stuff really annoys me though, and I can not tell you how many times I have bought lip balm and it has turned out to actually be sticky, thick, ill smelling lip gloss that gets all over everything.  I have been using My Lip Stuff for the past week and have put all my other tubes, containers and tiny little jars away.  It truly is an amazing product.  If you're like me and hate that sticky, gross lip gunk that they have the nerve to market as lip balm then this is the product for you, for sure.  Even if you're just looking for an organic lip balm or if you are interested in using cruelty free beauty products, then I suggest this lip balm to you!
