What if it were your Son or Daughter?

As I'm dashing about like a mad woman trying to get myself & my family ready to go, like most other days recently, I am taking the time to post something.  I actually had another post scheduled for today but this one is much more important if you ask me.  It was Written by the lovely, talented and beautifully giving person we all know and love, Stephanie -- You may know her as Babes Rockin' Mami!  Read it, help if you can....

It was an email, and I literally have 2 seconds before I have to run out the door, and I still don't have a bra on so forgive me if it needs some fixing!
So here's what Steph had to say!

This is of course the busiest time of the year but it's also the giving season, the time where we make sure to think of others before ourselves. A family is grieving the loss of their son in a horrific accident. Read more http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/26082549/detail.html" target="_blank">here and http://babesrockinmami.com/?p=2418" target="_blank">here. Most of us can't even imagine the pain this family is experiencing not to mention the financial strain. It's my Christmas wish to be able to help this family, who are also friends of mine, to help take away something on their minds at a time that's focused on famil and love and happiness.
I am still trying hard to get some products donated as incentive to donate. I know that a childs death is sad and isn't like a baby with a disease or curing something but it's still just as important. If you son or daughter was killed in an accident what would you do? Every dollar you donate will be one entry into the drawing for prizes. I will get an email with your info and the amount you've donated and will email you back to confirm and give you your drawing numbers. When the auction ends tentatively on the 15th of January, possibly the 31st I will go through and random.org each item with them numbers to pick a winner (the two of you that have donated will be getting emails soon). I hope to have more details on the auction in the next few days as more sponors get back in touch, between the weekend and weather people are taking longer to get back in touch. Decide to give up your morning coffee to Riley for a day and you give $5 to a deserving family and get five entries to win some cool stuff!
The donations we have to auction off right now are:
$10 Gift Card to Bath & Body Works
$25 Gift Code to http://www.etsy.com/shop/rockmami" target="_blank">Steph's Rockin Bakery
$50 Gift Code to http://www.pinkcherry.com" target="_blank">PinkCherry.com
You can also help by SPREADING THE WORD! I have been surprised that not many people have taken an interest but I'm hoping that it's just because the weekend was busy and you've been busy shopping. I know my readers would do anything they could to help!
Babe and Riley were just a month apart, Sandra and I shared pregnancy stories, ultrasounds, fears and firsts. It always seemed like if one boy was doing something the other was right behind him or had been doing it. Both boys loving, sweet, funny little boys whoe changed both of us for the better. I see so much of me in her as a mother. The rest of her firsts with Riley are gone now and as a mother and a friend of Sandra I want to do everything I can to help and I know that you will too. Our blog family can help this family with this burden so that they have one less thing to worry about in the recovery from the death of Riley. Feel free to email me any questions that you may have!
The Rockin' Bakery will be donating 25% off it's profits to The Riley Memorial! We can't do much but we can organize this raffle, donation drive and donate the profits to it.

We Need Your Help!

You may have already heard, since Gucci announced it earlier today.  Either way I'm here to announce it again!

We Need Your Help!

I have reached out to Gucci to offer the only help I am currently able to give to her beautiful friend Renee, whose strength inspires me and whose positivity in trying times should be a model to us all.

I can promise you that if I were able to give more than I would, no questions asked!  Yesterday I told you all a very personal story, one that has shaped my life and who I am so fully that it is engraved into the very essence of my being, one that is speaks of the very core of the person that I am.  A story about my early childhood.  It doesn't even seem fitting to say that it is a story of my early childhood, because it is actually the story of my early childhood.
I have given everyone who has read it who hasn't been through it a glimpse into the mind of a child whose parent has cancer.  A window into the minds and the hearts of Renee and Carl's beautiful children.  I don't like writing about it, talking about it, but I think about it on a near daily basis.  I wrote about it in hopes that it would inspire you to give, whatever you can, to help this family.  To show how important it is, even to the youngest of family members, that we all reach out as humans to help each other when in need!

Now, today, I am asking you to further support me while I am working on the organization of an event for Renee and Carl and their darling children.  I'm not asking anyone to do anything other than what I myself am doing.

What is that?  I am doing whatever I can to help, and I'm not asking for anything more or anything less of any of you all!

How you can help:

  • We need bloggers who are willing to spread the word, through blog posts, through social media like Twitter, Facebook etc, about this event.  To get it out there and to get it the maximum exposure possible!
  • We need bloggers who are willing to host giveaways or raffles for products for this event!  Don't have a product?  Contact me and I will help set you up with one!
  • We need bloggers who are also artists, jewelry makers, designers or anything like that to donate products to us.  So that we can raffle them off or host giveaways for them to help promote giving, and to give back to those who are willing to give to this family in their time of need!
  • We need sponsors, companies or whatever you want to call them to donate products to us for this event for the same reasons I listed above!
  • We need bloggers who may think they don't have anything to give.  We've all got something to give, even if it's something that you don't even think of.  Top spots in Meme's or link up's to raffle off, guest posts on popular blogs to auction off or anything that you can think of like that!
If you are willing to do ANY of these things, or if you have another idea or something else you want to donate or do for this event then please contact me at:  ZombieHousewifeBlog@gmail.com

If you want to donate clothing, blankets, gift cards, toiletries or anything else like that then you can contact me at the above email address (and I'll get you in touch with Gucci Mama) or Stephanie at Mama Still Wears Gucci

Also, please check out my girl Ange's blog, she already has her Giveaway up, so head on over there and put your name on the list to win her prize, you must be 18 or over to enter as it is an adult giveaway, and you either have to donate money or spread the word to enter to win

**UPDATE**

Help us get the word out by tweeting this!
