Monday Minute

This is the first time I have been able to participate in this. It's been renamed this week after a beautiful little baby girl who was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer last week, and the precious age of just 16 months. My thoughts and prayers go out to this darling little baby and her family and everyone whose life she has ever touched, since we all know that babies and children tend to touch the lives of many. I truly hope that anyone reading this will click on that adorable little photo and go to her Mama's blog and follow her, no...not just follow her but pray for her, often. You can head over to Ian's blog, snag these questions and link up....or you can go there to get the Sending Prayers for Monkey button to put on your blog! I'm sure it would be very greatly appreciated!

1 - How old do you act?
It depends. When I'm playing with the boys, I probably act like a 4 year old.

2 - As far back as you can remember, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was 7 I found a Playboy Magazine my brother was hiding. I sat looking at it, and unfolded the centerfold. About that time my Daddy walked by and asked what I was doing. I said looking at Bubbys book, and I had decided not to be a lawyer anymore I wanted to look like that lady and be a pretty model like her. Yeah. That went over just great with my Daddy.

3 - If you were to write a book based on your life, what would the title be?
I'm not sure, but it would probably end up as a Lifetime Movie. haha

4 - What's something that you do that's considered "childish" by most?
You want the long or short version? Tons of things, really. I have the habit of dancing in semi public and very random places. Especially if my friend Ryan is present. I take odd random pictures as well, it's quite likely that some day you'll see a photo of me sitting on of those quarter horse rides outside of a supermarket. I like to have fun, and sometimes that means acting stupid with my friends in public! ;)

5 - The last question isn't a question. Write a story of a time of when you or someone you know overcame great adversity.
My Sister-In-Law was pregnant right after I had my oldest. Her water broke at some insane early gestational age, 13 weeks or 14 weeks. She went to the local hospital, and they wanted to just go ahead and get a D&C date ready. She didn't want that at all, they lead her to believe there was absolutely no hope at all. I got online for her and started reading about PROM (premature rupture of membranes) and realized that there was hope, not a lot of it but there was some. Everyone was praying for her. She went to a bigger womens and childrens hospital. They checked her in, and she was on bed rest for quite a long while. Until the day she had her C-Section in fact she laid right in that bed, barely moving. We all prayed, and prayed and prayed some more. By some miracle of God there was a pocket of fluid around the babies nose and mouth, small but present. She had a C-Section at the early 20 something week mark. Her baby was in the hospital for a very very very long time. She didn't have enough money to stay up there in a hotel, so she rotated staying at the Ronald McDonald house, the hospital waiting rooms, hotels and coming home and driving back up there daily to give him breast milk. He was in the hospital past his gestational age, and was barely as big as a man's hand. Eventually he was able to come home. They thought he would be delayed, and possibly have some disabilities but he doesn't. He does have a slightly weaker immune system, but he is an incredibly intelligent child. He is 3 years old now, and the most precious boy. He has a smile that touches everyone he meets. At 2 he was singing entire songs, not just one but quite a few, counting and saying his ABC's. He has exceeded every expectation.

Ally, it's my pleasure to do anything I can for Michelle and Monkey. My mother as well as my half-sisters son have both passed away from cancer. It truly breaks my heart to read about Monkey and her Mama having to go through this.

Jessica, thanks! I enjoy answering the questions, though the book title one stumped me quite a bit. haha My Husbands sister is a very strong woman, and her son is a fighter as well. His sister went through so many miscarriages before she got pregnant and had her second baby, she has two boys 19 years apart. He's truly a blessing, to be able to watch someone so small overcome all the odds really gives you hope and faith in other situations where the odds are stacked against you.

Thanks for the follow! (= I appreciate it very muchly!

Your sister-in-law sounds like an amazingly dedicated Mommy. Praise God she gave her son every chance to survive and let God do the rest. What an incredible story!!!
