Ashlee - Blog Author & Editor of A Housewife Manifesto
Hello!  Thank you for stopping by to learn a little bit more about me, my family and A Housewife Manifesto.

My name is Ashlee and I'm the blog author and editor of A Housewife Manifesto, formerly The Zombie Housewife.  I started my first blog with a friend of mine when I was 17 years old.  So I've been blogging since 2003.  For years my blogs were only viewable by my family and friends.  I started this blog in May of 2010, so I've been blogging here for almost a year.

A Little About Me:

I currently live in Southern West Virginia, but I grew up in Virginia.  We moved here when I was 11 or 12 and I've been here ever since, for the most part.  My husband and I are considering a move back to the small town in Virginia where I was raised, in the fall of this year.  West Virginia is a beautiful place, and I have had the privilege of living in two place where the mountains were literally right outside of our back door, and I hope to give the same to my boys.  There's something sort of magical about the beautiful mountains, trees, flowers and wild life in the two Virginias.

After I graduated I attended college, and then married my husband when I was 19, almost 20, years old.  When we got married I decided that I would stay home to take care of our home and get used to married life for at least a year.  We were only married for 9 months when I got pregnant with my first son, Aiden Konnor, and I decided again not to work so that I could stay home and be a full time wife and mother.  Almost two months before Aidens 3rd birthday I gave birth to our second son, Jagger Brennan.  I've been a very content and happy housewife and stay at home mama for almost 6 years now.  Though I did go back to university for one semester before getting pregnant with Jagger.

Aiden & Justin - Our Beautiful oldest son and my wonderful husband!
I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Justin, for 6 years this August and we have been together for 8 years.  I feel very blessed to have found the man that is my soul mate and love of my life so early on.  Our children are our whole world, and we are best friends.  Family is very important to us, and I am very fortunate to have a wonderful one.

I'm just your typical 25 year old Southern girl.  I love my sweet iced tea, spending time outside and a warm evening with a cool breeze spent on the porch swing reading a book while my boys play in the yard, I say ya'll alarmingly often and I call nearly everyone honey, sugar or darlin'.  Although, grits aren't a staple food for me, so I'm not totally cliche.  I love living in the South, and I can't ever really see myself living anywhere else.  Don't think that just because I'm a country girl that I don't like getting myself fixed up though.  I love fashion, jewelry, makeup and fixing my hair.  I enjoy getting my nails and hair done and like any other girl I love to shop, mostly for shoes, bags and jewelry.

Justin & Jagger - My amazing husband and our youngest son!

I like gardening in the summer, and I'm hoping to grow our own vegetables this year and maybe even start canning.  I'm passionate about the environment and I try to live by the phrase "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" as much as possible.  I am absolutely obsessed with reading, and I consider it one of my great loves.  I enjoy learning as well.  I'm currently trying to learn to cook as much as possible from scratch, and I've had some adventures doing so, believe me.  I love art, both viewing it and creating it.  I really enjoy decorating our home, and re purposing old items into something beautiful, original and new.  Being a Christian, wife and mother are the three most important things in my life.

Blogging allows me to be creative, which is something that I feel we all need in our lives.  It stimulates my mind, allows me to write and to connect with other people that I may not know otherwise.  I feel like I'm always learning something new when I'm reading all of my favorite blogs daily, and if I'm not learning then I'm laughing.  I've met some of the most amazing women through this blog (and a couple of men too, yes that means you Ian and Jessie! =), and I'd like to think I've met some great friends as well.

A Little About the Blog:

A Housewife Manifesto is my own personal blog, written and edited by me.  It is a PR Friendly blog, and I do have some sponsored content.  It is always identified as such though.  I host giveaways and write product reviews here as well.
